The problem
Research organisations write for three audiences who want completely different things. Fellow scientists want depth and citations. Funders and partners want credibility and direction. The public wants to know why it matters. Most research sites pick one and lose the other two, or publish PDFs and call it a website.
How we approached it
We structured the site so depth is available without being imposed. The surface layer explains the work in plain language; the detail sits one click beneath for the people who want it. Because research content is added continuously, we made publishing straightforward for non-technical staff, which is what determines whether a site like this stays current a year later.
